Day Session: AI at Work

Take someone who has never deliberately used AI at work and have them leave with five prompts that work on their own job, one finished piece of real work, and an accurate sense of when the tool is wrong.

Who it is for: Anyone: business owners, council staff, no experience assumed
Where: Community centre or your venue, on any device
Tools: Built entirely on the free Copilot. Nothing purchased, nothing installed, nothing for IT to approve
Leaves with: Five saved prompts, one finished piece of real work, and a clear sense of when to check the output

Rung 2 · Five days

Week Session: Extended

For a council or business team ready to make AI daily practice. Delivered on site, measured before and after.

Who it is for: A team with some regular use of AI, up to ten people
Where: Your office, on managed laptops
Leaves with: A measured before and after result, a shared team prompt library, and one working agent built inside your existing Microsoft tools

Alongside the ladder · Five days or a three-day Sprint

Week Session: Simple

A different skill entirely: scoping and building the business case for a pilot, not day-to-day tool use. It teaches the same discovery method as Discovery Week, so your own staff produce the pilot case and keep the templates.

Who it is for: Managers, not the team who will use the tools day to day
Formats: Five full days, or a three-short-day Sprint for up to five people
Leaves with: A scoped, evidence-based pilot case and the method to repeat it for the next use case

Rung 3 · Six months

Month Session: AI Engineer Formation

A 26-week, self-paced professional course with support, for programmers who want to build systems, not use them.

Who it is for: Working programmers with moderate experience
Where: Self-paced, with support
Leaves with: The ability to build and evaluate specialised local models and autonomous agents

The three rungs are not a queue everyone joins at the bottom and leaves at the top. Most people should stop at the day or the week, and that is a complete outcome. The 26-week program needs a working programmer, and we will say so honestly.

Which program should I start with?

Most people belong on the Day Session, and that is a complete outcome. Move up to the week when five or more people from one organisation attended and a manager asks what the deeper version looks like.

Do I need to buy anything or install software?

No. The Day Session is built entirely on the free Copilot. Nothing is purchased, nothing is installed, and no licence check or IT approval is needed.

What is the difference between Week Session Extended and Simple?

Extended teaches a team day-to-day tool use and ends with a working agent. Simple teaches managers to scope and build the business case for a pilot, using the same discovery method as Discovery Week.
